For London-born PowerVie coach Adam Sewell, fitness isn't just a career. It's a way of life.

An ex-movie and television stuntman, Adam played soccer, rugby, tennis, cross country, swimming, and field hockey in school.

"I have been practicing martial arts & horse riding since age four," Adam says.

Adam was fortunate enough to have an authentic Chinese master of Kung Fu and T'ai Chi move from China to live with him for almost a year. He has also studied kickboxing, Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, and military Close Quarters Combat, holding black belts in a few of those styles. In addition, he spent six years training in Tae-Bo with Billy Blanks.

"Now I also kayak, climb, practice Tai Chi and yoga, mountain bike, ski, jet ski, SCUBA dive, run and hike. Life - like fitness - is all about balance."

His most demanding physical challenge to date?

"Stunt work in general is very demanding. Getting beaten up on a daily basis get quite challenging. I spent a few years training in hand to hand combat with Special Forces. That was physically demanding, too."

As a coach, Adam enjoys watching people have fun while pushing themselves to the limit.

Born in London, Adam lived in England, Germany, Zambia, South Africa, Spain, Ireland, on cruise ships in the Caribbean, Los Angeles, and Colorado Springs before finally settling down in Los Gatos.
