Conservatory of Flowers (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Directions:
The streets which surround the Conservatory are John F. Kennedy Drive (south) and Conservatory Drive (north, west and east). Though most parking is free within Golden Gate Park, spaces can be limited and there are time limits, usually 3 to 4 hours.
Stow Lake (Some Wednesdays)
Directions:
We meet on the north side of Stow Lake which is in the center of the park (at approximately 19th Avenue). To get there you will need to get to JFK Drive which runs on the north side of GG Park. (Martin Luther King Jr. Drive runs along the south side.) From JFK, follow the directions below.
From JFK Dr:
Turn left if you are coming from the East (panhandle) or right if you are coming from the West (ocean) onto Stow Lake Drive (you will see a grey sign saying Stow Lake and Chinese Pavillion). Drive up the hill and bear to the left towards the Chinese Pavillion. Do not go straight ahead into the parking lot next to the boat rentals. As you round the corner to the left you will see the lake and up ahead you will see a cement bridge which is partially covered by a tree. Park anywhere on the street either before or after the bridge. We will meet on the bridge.
Lyon Street Stairs (Some Wednesdays)
Directions:
Meet in the cul-de-sac at Lyon and Vallejo. Please try to park on Vallejo, but close to Baker, to keep the street near the stairs clear. Remember the stairs are right next to several residences so please keep the noise to a minimum. Also, listen closely for instructions so that we won’t need to shout. Be courteous to non-campers using the stairs.
From Marina Blvd. take Divisadero Street, and make a right onto Vallejo.
